TTA Marine was founded by three engineers who are also lifelong mariners.

 Daniel J Avoures - President

Mr. Avoures brings nearly 40 years experience in the marine industry to TTA Marine. Mr. Avoures was engaged in the practice of naval architecture and marine surveying for more than 17 years, including 9 years as a classification surveyor to Germanischer Lloyd and 2 years with Lloyds Register.

For 20 years he was president of NOA Marine, Inc. a well-known yacht repair and service yard located in St Petersburg, Fl., which specialized in restorations of motor yachts and new construction. He designed and oversaw the 70 new build vessels that were constructed by the yard.

Since selling the shipyard in 2006 he has been active as a consultant to vessel owners regarding regulatory issues.

Mr. Avoures years of experience and unique understanding of the commercial ship, workboat, and yacht markets put him in our Captains chair. Some people say they were born on the water, Mr. Avoures actually was, ask him.

 John S. Jilek - Lead Software Architect

John is a cross-platform software specialist with a vast experience in software development, information systems technology, and industrial automation.  He has proven these skills over a 25+ year career in systems engineering, equipment sales and software engineering.

As a industrial controls and process engineer, software architect and developer, John has led teams in developing solutions for many varied industries including; pulp & paper, petroleum services, industrial products manufacturing, and medical equipment.  His expertise in communication technologies has been proven with recent solutions of a proprietary protocol EDI data integration and a medical equipment RFID application.  John has developed and implemented a wide variety of solutions in Real Time Operating Systems on embedded system platforms, server, desktop and web, in a variety of languages including; C, C++, C#, Java, Ruby, Pascal, VB, and various assembly languages.

 William Taylor - VP Engineering

Mr. Taylor brings over 30 years experience in the management, design and implementation of electrical and mechanical systems and subsystems in the industrial, marine and military environment.

As an industrial engineer he designed shipboard systems for military and Class vessels (ABS, DNV, Lloyds, Etc) as well as shore-based systems. From ship and yacht refits to remote RF SCADA control in Florida’s largest lake restoration project in history, to Pulp and Paper Mill Design his versatility is without reproach. He has managed projects to $50,000,000. On time and on budget. Coming from the engineering environment in Silicon Valley he led the engineering and prosperity of many successful start-ups. He brings to TTA Marine the discipline necessary to take Passagemaking to a new level of robustness.

With tens of thousands of miles logged in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. Mr. Taylor has been Sailing and Racing since he was six years old. In 2001, he moved to Power and now after moving to Florida, he and his Wife own an 80-foot YP that they are converting for cruising.
